Talk us through your collection.
I am a designer who loves texture. I work with materials that inspire me and the WithLoveFromParis is a collection of accessories made out of old lace and natural leather.
Tell us the story behind the lace and how you got started?
WithLoveFromParis started when I was living in Paris and discovered a fabulous old haberdashers in the old Jewish district of the Marais. It was an amazing place full of ribbons buttons and beads with gorgeous old ladies in pinafores- like stepping back to the fifties! I started making collars out of lace and then began to make other small accessories out of leather. Both come from a love of material, texture and natural products. I want to make items that are totally modern, but from ancient and vintage materials.
Tell us about your practice and making process.
I am a designer based between Paris and East London, I have a small studio in East london where I make everything by hand, I have a treasure trove of tools and boxes of interesting leathers, lace, fabric and I try to put together simply designed items which work.
Where do you draw your inspiration?
Again, my inspiration comes from materials and the making process itself, I am very inspired by materials, and also by very simple design. I always look for the simplest way to do something.
